Rich.
Rich.
Rich is a boss.
He recently just finished 142nd in the world for the 45-49 masters division for the CrossFit Games qualifier.
"Using what I've learned from you for proper fueling, was a big part of me being able to do so well and keep my foot on the throttle through those nasty workouts. In 20.4, the box jump, pistol, clean & jerk WOD, I finished 33rd in the world by making it to, and C&J 275lbs for 2 reps. Definitely properly fueled for that one! So thank you for all of your help!"
Rich came to me eating not nearly enough to support his training and his active lifestyle. When he first started CrossFit he began a paleo way of eating and lost about 60 pounds. He then transitioned to macros but wasn't properly fueling himself for his training. He was restricting his carb intake and found himself always hungry which lead to binging and waking up in the middle of the night starving.
Rich and I started out in a building/maintenance phase. He dropped some weight and then maintained. But most importantly his performance in the gym was improving, we were healing his metabolism and his body composition was starting to change. In 12 weeks we got his overall caloric intake up by close to 1000 cals. Rich put on a good amount of muscle and also lost inches around his waist. Over the next 3 months we went through different phases. We cut back calories to focus on fat loss and then built back up to make sure he was being properly fueled for competitions. In May, he placed 13th in his age division at The Fittest Games in Texas.
Rich now feels way more in control of his nutrition. He no longer feels the need to binge and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night hungry.
He has been enjoying competing and continues to do so.
Can't wait to see what is in store for you Rich!
